History of punjab 
Punjab in ancient times was known as the Sapt-Sindhava, or land of the seven rivers. The name Punjab was given by later Islamic invaders. The aforementioned seven rivers were the Vitsta and Vitamasa (Jhelum), Asikni (Chenab), Parusni and Iravati (Ravi), Vipasa (Beas), and the Satudri (Sutlej).

The region lying near the foot hills of Himalayas receive heavy rainfall whereas the region lying at a distant from the hills, the rainfall is scanty and the temperature is high. Punjab Climate comprises of three seasons.

1.phulkari
•Phulkari is the traditional embroidery of Punjab. It literally means floral work. This embroidery is usually done on the coarse thick cotton fabric called Khaddar. The base cloth is usually in dull brown color. 

2.punjabi jutti

•Leather shoes with bright embroidery on them are called Punjabi Juttis. In Punjab, they are called Patiala Jutti or Kasuri Jutti. Kasur is a town in western Pun2jab. These handmade shoes are made of hard leather.

3.punjabi pankhi

•The Pankhi or Pakhi as it is called in Punjab is a small hand-held fan. In good old days, women used to fondly make their own fans.
